Shows several painted chairs and introduces other artists in the studio. Audience member asks where the chairs can be found. Ya Ya’s have been in existence for about three years, began with a commercial art teacher working with local artists. They are mostly seniors from Rabouin high school. Darryl shows some of the art on stage. Darryl is a chemistry major freshman at Xavier. Asks another Ya Ya, Lionel, about his art work. They are going to Italy for second time. The art there had a huge influence. He grew up all over as a military “brat” and has been doing art from about 4 years old. 16:30 Asks Damian about the gallery on Baronne. Ya Ya’s have 15 artists.When a piece is sold 50% goes to the artist, 30% to the college fund and the rest to keeping the space going. Describes a piece he did depicting sound and light.
