Panelists: Tamika Cage- English PHD student at LSU, Mythia Clarke- Education PHD student at LSU, Marcy McGowen- Masters student in Liberal Arts. Discussion: The panelists explore film, music and literature. Tamika's presentation is entitled 'Ali: The Greatest Nostalgia and Media Response to September 11th.' Mythia's presentation is entitled 'If the Shoe Fits Should We Wear It: The Cinderella Myth Revisited.' The presentation discusses the Cinderella stereotype and how it can cripple a woman's identity and role. Marcy discusses African American Idioms :: Panel #2: Voices in the Village: Young Black Poets in the New Millennium. Moderator, Mona Lisa Savoie. Panelists and their Poems: Megan Lewis, Anthony Means- 'Scenarios of Love' 'Today the Love Came Out' 'You Can't see it.' Delicia Daniels- 'The Separation,' 'A Paraphrase Bliss' and 'Human Seeds.' Ryan Charles Rice- 'Pilgrimage.' 'Evil Heart' and 'Free Thoughts.' James Williams- 'Big Easy,' 'The Promise Land,' 'History,' 'A Vision' and 'Not Just Another Bus.' Victoria McNair- 'A Writer,' 'Digging Deep' 4 haikus, and 'Kiss.'. Nicole Perkins- 'You're Just Stupid.' And a 3-person reading with Adrienne Jackson, Terrence Hendricks and Megan Lewis. Discussion: Dillard University Poets read / discuss their poetry.
