There had been a drought in Nigeria when he released his first of three albums, Prisoner of Conscience, with the single “Send Down the Rain,” and then there was rain. 03:40 Describes Pongoloo rhythms and music from Nigeria and Jamaica, a combination of sounds from many cultures. His music is African rock/reggae. Asks about Bob Marley’s influence. Majek says he paved the way. 07:20 Audience asks what makes Nigeria special amidst all the music coming out of West Africa?
